ABOUT

She was excited for each day, as she routinely committed herself to Saturday morning cartoons. I convince myself of each day's newness, then plan for Saturday night adventures that turn into early Sunday. Pasta and Gouda and prosciutto were always promises kept in her refrigerator and she liked to peer over whatever arms were cooking. She heard her name said in scolding, introduction, or in being shown something new. I hear "Zianna" mostly coming from my own mouth, in constant pursuit of convincing other people it's a name worth knowing. I am surprised when it's pronounced correctly, because everyone who now says it has not known me for long. She still lives with me, and the only arguments we ever have are in deciding who gets to have the stronger presence at any given moment. She spent her whole existence preparing to meet Zianna, and for that I owe to her a dedication of everything I do.

I'm a 2017 graduate of NYU Gallatin with a concentration in Creative Writing, Journalism, Art, and Sociology, self-titled "Expression and Reportage (of the Self and the Other)." Born and raised in Los Angeles, eldest of three girls. I have a passion for creativity and love to learn, both qualities I employ as I begin my creative career.

I have written for The Tab NYU and Felix Magazine, though I'm always looking for more experience. So I write and post it here.
